FAQ
MOUTHMASKER & COVID-19
There are a “ga-zillion” homemade face mask instructions online, why should I purchase one from MouthMasker?
When you purchase a mask from MouthMaskers you are supporting our small business in Anaheim, California where we make each mask in house. You are also supporting our local artists/influencers and we thank you! In addition to your support, you are also helping us give back to the community. For every mask purchased we are donating a mask to those in need.
Why do you need to wear a cloth face mask?
In light of new data about how COVID-19 spreads, along with evidence of widespread COVID-19 illness in communities across the country, CDC recommends that people wear a cloth face covering to cover their nose and mouth in the community setting. This is to protect people around you if you are infected but do not have symptoms.
We encourage you to visit your local public health website for up-to-date COVID-19 guidelines.
When do I need to wear a cloth face mask?
A cloth face covering should be worn whenever people are in a community setting, especially in situations where you may be near people. These settings include grocery stores and pharmacies. These face coverings are not a substitute for social distancing. Cloth face coverings are especially important to wear in public in areas of widespread COVID-19 illness.
Why is CDC recommending cloth face coverings instead of medical grade face-masks?
Surgical masks and N95 respirators are in short supply and should be reserved for healthcare workers or other medical first responders, as recommended by CDC guidance.
Can I wash the mask? How often should I wash my mask?
Yes. They should be routinely washed depending on the frequency of use. A washing machine should suffice in properly washing the mask.
Will this protect me from COVID-19?
The CDC says that wearing a mask will SLOW the spread of COVID-19. For more information please visit the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html
Will I be taking a face mask away from someone that needs one more than me?
No, wearing a face mask is a personal responsibility to protect yourself and your community. You can feel good about purchasing a face mask from MouthMasker, as we are donating a mask for each mask sold.
Where are the donations going?
We donate our masks to essential workers, elders, homeless, and health care providers in our community. We just recently donated to Valencia Terrace Senior Living Community in Anaheim.
